“Blessed are those who believe without seeing.” John 20:29
Nineteen hundred hours of officially becoming part of the thirty’s club…and how do I feel?….I feel great! My mind is relaxed and for the past hours, I’ve been constantly reminding myself of how blessed I am.
Blessed to have a loving God who is constantly watching over me, protecting me, guiding my steps and showering me with so much care and support.
Blessed to have so many opportunities in life.
Blessed to have people around me that I can count on no matter what. People who show me love, care and honesty, each and everyday.
Blessed to have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on the table and icing on the cake which is the little luxuries I love.
Blessed to have a clean bill of health, confidence, a peaceful mentality and so much more to look forward to in life.
Before writing this post, I aimed to compose a draft (as I usually do with most of my blog posts), however, after reading through the first few lines, I didn’t like where it was going. Before turning thirty, I was beginning to doubt myself, my strengths and what I am capable of achieving. I found myself beginning to question some of the goals that are yet to be ‘ticked off’ my list. And after having several conversations with friends and family who are already thirty or past the age, I realised that this is totally normal. With that being said, I didn’t want that to become ‘my norm.’ Reaching this milestone in life, is such a fantastic and amazing blessing and I wanted to feel every bit of positivity that came along with it. In life, we all doubt ourselves from time to time. It doesn’t necessarily occur when or before you hit thirty. And like I mentioned above, it is totally normal. As we all know, the most important thing is to focus on all our personal achievements and to use those memories to push ourselves forward.
It is part of our nature to put a time frame on our life goals and because of that, we tend to be very hard on ourselves when we don’t meet our deadlines. Bit as a believer in Christ, I know that His plan/s may differ from ours at times and in order to experience eternal joy in life, we must put our trust in Him and believe that everything will fall into place at the right time. Gods time is the best time.
So as I sit here, sipping on some wine and getting ready to publish this post, I am going to relax and unwind in nothing but positive thoughts. I am going to look forward to the next chapters in my life and watch the beauty of Gods work unfold right before my very own eyes.
And to anyone else out there celebrating their special day today, Happy Birthday to you all and I hope you’re enjoying every moment. x
