Sometimes, your outfits don’t go according to plan. For example, I woke up on this bright and crispy Sunday morning ready to tackle my to do list; which was going ever so smoothly. After church, I drove back home to beat my face (with makeup off course) and put on the most comfortable attire, to take cute pictures in. By the time, I had reached my location for the shoot, I realised I had left behind the key piece to this outfit….
My photograpgher who happens to be my better half, had the warmest scarf stylishly wrapped around his neck…meanwhile I stood there with my bare chest out in the open as if I was inviting pneumonia and all sorts of severe flu symptoms in; whilst trying to figure out how to complete my outfit.
I quickly concluded, that the best way to show this outfit as a suitable Autmn/ Winter look, would be to layer it up with the scarf that he so comfortably adorned. As he snapped away, we took short breaks in between so that I could have a look at the pictures and get the right sense of direction. As I scrolled through the images, I began to feel this great sense of warmth. And that didn’t only come from the scarf protecting me from the cold weather but also from the idea that in life, sometimes you plan your every move down to the T, however things may (or may not) happen the way you expect it to. At times you may find yourself in a tight or slighlty uncomfortable situation where you’re forced to make a prompt decision on the spot. Now those impromptu decisions always include taking risks; yet you will never know the outcome unless you face that decision head on.
Some readers will say I played it safe by adding the scarf. But this long length of wool wasn’t part of the initial vision. And prior to putting it on, I wasn’t sure if it was going to work for me. After taking the risk and throwing it over my shoulder, I was extremely pleased with the outcome and actually preferred it to the coat I accidently left behind.
